Unique Work
After leaving The Slade School in 1984, Richard Wise has worked as a graphic designer for almost 40 years, in numerous companies across the Industry. Fine art has always played a significant part in his work and inspiration. After this dormant period, he is finally resurrecting his passion for printmaking. His current work, explores natural and geometric forms, abstracted into drawn and gestural mark making. He enjoys the spontaneity of the mono print and of course the challenge of instant decision making this requires. Richard graduated from The Slade School in 1984, with an MA in fine art printmaking. He lectured widely and took up posts as artist in residence. Since this period, he has done sod all. But after having invested his time and energy to help bring up a wonderfully creative family with his wife Leonieke, he is now, at the ripe old age of 63, investing time and effort to relaunch his printmaking passion.
