Robert Powell is a multi-media artist based in Edinburgh. Printmaking is at the heart of his practice, but it often is transformed into, or is supplemented by sculpture, artist’s books and web-based art. Careering through subject and tone, his works attempt to impart an encyclopaedic condensation of the world in miniature. For example, a suite of sixteen etchings depicting the history of the world or a high rise dollhouse ascending from the rapture of souls to the garden of Eden. Powell’s work has been exhibited in many solo shows in the UK and abroad and he has won a variety of awards.
