Anupa Gardner is an Indian-born artist based in Scotland, working predominantly in the field of printmaking. Her work mainly explores the everyday. Looking for and finding magic in the commonplace through her identity, to make sense of the world we inhabit. She is always looking for that moment of human connection, that instant when you know you are part of, or have witnessed, something extraordinary. She is influenced by narratives and often has an element of story telling in her work. Her practice is driven by her interest in drawing and mark making. Gardner graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2008 with an MA in Illustration and has exhibited widely. Her work is held in private and public collections including the City Arts Center and the Central Library, Edinburgh.
