Unique Work

Anna Heyda is a traditional printmaker born and based in Poland. She specialises in dry point, serigraphy and her original technique called Polymer. This technique enables her to form unconventional effects on the surface of plexi glass used in the dry point process. The use of Polymer allows the artist to create an impression of 3D layering by enhancement of the presented convex forms. The ink stays only in places etched by the needle and hence Polymer acts as an alternative drawing tool. In some works Heyda also uses screen printing technique to emphasize the multifaceted nature of the prints. Heyda’s submitted work, “Transmission”, is a combination of expressive vibrant colours and linearity. Both techniques allow for presentation of the closest details while preserving the delicacy of graphic Hähnemühle paper as a canvas for these works. Heyda demonstrates her vision of the world through this linear drawing, taking inspiration from architecture and storytelling. Heyda graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, Poland in 1992 with an MA in Fine Art Printmaking, where she won the Academy’s Gold Medal for the year’s best work . Since 1992, she has exhibited her works in many individual and group exhibitions in Poland.
