Rosie Mclay | Koi, 2017

£365.00
Etching

28 x 69 cm

Edition of 75

Rosie explores what it means to be a living thing; capturing the wonder of the human and animal body, predominantly through intricate copper plate etchings. Using this heritage printmaking technique alongside the artists unfathomably fine line style of drawing, gives a voice of the past which is suggestive of the artists’ choice of a fragile subject matter; death, birth, extinction and growth. Growing up in East Sussex, the artist is now based in Bristol, UK. After studying a BA in Drawing and Applied (Fine) Arts at University of the West of England (2014) she has become a prominent figure in the arts of the City, including co-founding and managing arts space, Estate of the Arts since 2017.
