Rosie Lovelock is an Artist and Printmaker working in South East London, specialising in Lino print. Influenced by the female form, botanical shapes and the colours, shapes and people around her. She has an obsession with fine lines and pattern and is driven to include such things in the art that she makes. Pattern and line are a joy to her. She graduated from UWE in Bristol with an illustration degree 20 years ago and has been making Art ever since. She regularly attends life drawing groups - the drawings of which form the basis of her lino prints. When she is not printing, she is filling up sketch books with drawings of flora and fauna. She is represented by Will's Art Warehouse and has exhibited works at The Affordable art Fair and The Other Art Fair. Initially she started these art works for the joy of drawing the glorious shapes of the female body. Each lady evoked a feeling in her and somehow, she could imagine these scenes around them, with botanical shapes and wild creatures. She loves the idea that there is a spirit in all of us that could take on an animal form. She can really relate to that feeling of enjoying your strengths but also knowing that sometimes they can be a hindrance. These pieces to convey both empowerment and vulnerability
