£300.00

Linocut

53 x 63 cm

Edition of 10

Helen Taylor’s artwork explores how the natural world links with and influences structures and objects made by humans. She is inspired and obsessed with the myriad shapes, details and symmetrical individuality of plants, particularly ferns, flowers and leaves.Using the medium of printmaking, (mainly woodcut and Linocut), underpinned by intense and detailed drawings, grounded in process, she intertwines and layers flowers and leaves with architectural structures and domestic objects. Her work is sculptural in its use of line and shape.Taylor has a solo show in 2023 at The Cowper & Newton Museum, Olney, and has recently been making works in response to their collections. The submitted artworks are inspired by the museums’ Lace collection intertwined with the plants which inspired the lace designs.Taylor has a Masters degree in Printmaking and is an associate member of the SGFA (The Drawing Society) and of The Society of Women Artists. She works from her home studio in Milton Keynes. Taylor exhibits widely, and has work in public and private collections in the UK and overseas.
