JO AUSTEN | Collapse of the Wave Function, 2022
Etching
42 x 50 cm
Edition of 40
Jo Austen’s work explores the incongruous, the unexpected and patterns both unintentional and designed. Drawn to her local landscapes and floral imagery, she looks for hidden narratives to create often semi-magical compositions. In keeping with the organic themes of the work, she produces her etchings using non-toxic chemicals and water-based inks. The prints selected here play with perspective, scale and colour to invite the viewer to experience the environment in unconventional ways. Jo Austen graduated in 1994 with a degree in Fine Art (Painting and Printmaking) and taught Art for several years. She is a member of the Printmakers Council. Her work is held in private and public collections, including the V&A.
