Sue Jarman
£0.00
Sue Jarman is an image maker and printmaker with a spontaneous documentary style of drawing. She refers to her working process as visual eavesdropping; and it is a fundamental part of her practice.
Whether capturing figures to a soundtrack of conversations and unfolding narratives, or out in the landscape at the mercy of the elements, her drawings always include subconscious and emotional responses and references to time and place.
Printmaking provides fresh perspective and useful constraints for developing and resolving ideas. She works with a range of print techniques including drypoint, etching, lithography and screen printing, with an emphasis on layering, mark making, colour and storytelling.
In 2021 she was awarded the Letchworth Open Dekkle Prize, and last year was an artist in residence at Mawddach Residency in North Wales. She is a Fellow at Digswell Arts Trust, where she also coordinates the printmaking.
Sue has a Degree in Art and Design from the University of Hertfordshire and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Greenwich.
