Teri Walsh’s work embraces a wide range of media (2D and 3D) investigating the intrinsic structure of things (natural and man-made) based on her own photographs. Printmaking (particularly screenprints) is a major focus of her work. In March 2022 she returned to Skyscapes (a series based on photographs of dawns, dusks and clouds most of which are taken from her bedroom window overlooking the English Channel) adopting a very different approach to both the subject matter and the process of screenprinting. These recent works are all screen monoprints. Gone is the analytical, logical approach to building up images using various types of positives. Instead there are often blended backgrounds followed by ink and paste being applied by brush, sponge etc. onto an open screen and pulled through. This process is repeated as many times as necessary until she believes the image is finished. Walsh studied Fine Art at Wolverhampton School of Art. She has held a number of solo shows in the UK and been in many group, open / juried or curated exhibitions in the UK and overseas including the Print International, Wrexham (2019 and 2021) and the Woolwich (2023). She is also a poet (as Teri O’Neal).
