Unearthing the metal plate shares similarities with archaeological digs. When looking at imagery of previous archaeological sites it was the feeling of the anatomy being uncovered and unearthed that was particularly interesting. Not too dissimilar to the rolling of a plate through the press. But its the anatomy of those figures that are so provoking, the fact they have remained unknown and under no scrutiny for so long, and now rediscovered, they hold so much life both in the archaeological field and on the prints themselves.
