Euan Stewart
£0.00
Euan specialises in drawing and printmaking. His ongoing studies in anatomy and identity play with medium, scale and sequence to produce results that can be either traditional or experimental in execution.
This new work an emotional response to a crisis of collective and individual identity. Picking at the fabric of individuality through experiments in form and composition to a state of anonymity, or universality.
The abstracted figure is a symbol of an identity unique to the individual and common to all, constantly moving between separation and communion. Inspired by the weaving process, the industrial rhythm of line and negative space create a sense of movement between these states and allow the viewer to project their own sense of self.
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Brighton, Euan has exhibited widely and his work is held in collections at the V&A, Fabriano Museum and the Wellcome Collection.
