Leonard Noree

£0.00
Leonard Anthony Noree works with the facial expressions of grave mistakes, malfunction, unawareness, self delusion and dangerous fascination.
Working with mostly large variable edition relief prints, as well as small, intimate intaglio prints with figures that are desperately trying to escape interpretation, Noree joyously and often magically fails to make sense.
As an artist Noree often wonders what the point is of making anything at all and only works on pieces he can't resist doing.
Norees ongoing work with the series 'Idle Worship' summons single figures charged with contradicting states, such as standing still and falling over, fear and tranquility, sillyness and trancendence.
Noree received artistic training with Venezuelan artist Francisco Blanco, dutch artist Alexander Giebels, as well as arctic landacape painter Lennart Forsling. He now studies printmaking and Artists Book at Grafikskolan. He exhibits regularly in Stockholm.
