Frederic Morris was born in 1985. Following a First Class Honours Degree in Illustration from Middlesex University in 2007, he went on to study at the Royal College of Art, where he received an MA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking in 2009.
His recent work is inspired by the writings of Philip K Dick and the Strugatsky Brothers. …we all lie to ourselves; we tell our own selves more lies than we ever do other people. Philip K. Dick It comprises a series of disparate images that embrace symbolist ideas set in dystopian landscapes, reflecting current societal angst. He made these new works in order to make sense of an ever more confusing world, where yesterday’s science fiction has become today’s reality. He ironically glamorises the darker aspects of society, using his images as a catalyst for feelings of collective anxiety, depicting a world in a state of mental and physical disrepair as a consequence of over indulgence and consumerism.
