Emma Fitzpatrick was born in Dublin and her work has been influenced by the remote, primordial landscape of the West Coast of Ireland and the visible remnants of past human activity scattered around. Each monotype image goes through change on the plate through adding and rubbing away of ink in a painterly way until finally one ‘moment in time’ is captured when put through the press. Emma was awarded a ‘Develop your Creative Practice’ grant from Arts Council England in 2019 to develop her work as a printmaker. She has shown work in annual exhibitions including the Royal Society of British Artists, the Graphic Society of Fine Art, Society of Women Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fairs.
