Pauline Scott-Garrett's visual arts practice integrates printmaking, drawing and collage primarily to explore identity within the constraints of space, environments and context. She creates installations, backdrops, and large-scale print works that reflects on the fragility of the human body, trauma and loss. She uses a number of different printmaking processes including collagraphy, intaglio and polymer photogravure, and includes archival photographs from her personal collection in her work. In 2022, Pauline was awarded a National Lottery Project Grant “Develop Your Creative Practice’ from Arts Council England for a 12-month residency at RISE/Whittox Gallery culminating in a solo exhibition from 16 September - 5 November 2023. During the residency, she has developed a set of large-scale print works based on RISE’s former identity as a place of worship and it’s continuing identity as a place of refuge and sanctuary. Other recent projects include solo exhibition FRAGMENTS OF WEALTH at Drawing Projects UK Trowbridge in September 2021, a residency in Clifton, Bristol HOUSE in June 2021 which culminated in an installation of paper works reflecting on displacement and exile, and PRESS PLAY a group show at Kosar Contemporary in Bristol in Nov 2020.
