Anna Borowska started her artistic career in London, UK, where she graduated from Printmaking Department and lived and worked for over a decade. She took part in both UK based and international exhibitions and competitions. She is currently based in Gdynia, Poland, where she is a member of an artist organisation Halo Kultura.
Anna Borowska's practice combines the abstract with the figurative exploring the concepts of perception and comprehension of phenomena. She is inspired by natural and urban environments and an interplay between the inner and the outer. Composition and visual impact of an image are important aspects of Borowska's work. She explores the possibilities of colour, line and texture to create distinctive moods and illusions of space. She often uses photographic images as a visual research and a starting point in the process of editing imagery. Borowska's practice lies primarily within the medium of printmaking. Combining different techniques the artist creates small editions or unique one-off prints.
