Born in Puglia and raised in Rome, Giuseppe has lived a truly global life, moving from Europe to Venezuela, Japan and Australia. His travels have been a huge inspiration, informing his love of colours.
From an early age he has shown a passion for art and started drawing and painting with the help of artist friends. During his professional activity abroad, he always managed to find time for painting and drawing. In Australia particularly, where he lived for eight years, he painted colourful outback landscapes, and views in and around Sydney, successfully exhibiting on a yearly basis.
Since returning to Europe, his main sources of inspiration have been the landscapes of Puglia, Southern Italy, the land of his ancestors. Visiting every summer he makes sketches, later developed into colourful paintings and prints in his studio. His screen printing technique is to build up numerous layers of colour to produce visually complex landscapes and abstract work.
His latest series of screen prints are of his Puglian landscapes. Using a painterly style, he employs a photographic process to create stencils which reproduce his bold brush strokes and vivacious colours. Lately, the abstract tendencies have been seeping into his landscapes.
