Anita Geaney, a painter printmaker, studied Fine Art at Harrow school of Art and Kingston. She moved to Ireland in 1999 and joined Cork Printmakers in 2017. Working mostly in Lithography she has explored many processes enjoying combinations of two together. Stone lithography is a very slow process and the experience of drawing on the stone is unique.It gives opportunities of expressive and sensitive marks to be created. Mixing this with colour from screen printing and gel plate printing adds colour and vibrancy. Her organic garden and local rural landscape provide the source of inspiration and her love of nature.She expresses the delight and intrigue of these environments , combined with memory and imagination.Focusing on the plant life that sustains us and all life on earth.
