Ruiyao Zhu’s work explores the relationship between consciousness and subconsciousness looking into the boundaries of two completely different worlds from the perspective of psychology, exploring a visual language to create a diverse understanding of the inner world, Combining the anxieties, and fears that arise from dramatic changes in contemporary society, returning to the essentials of being human. She combined prints to extend her practical research based on personal experiences and social phenomena presenting narratives from mystery, grotesque, bizarre, unreal, and unexpected combinations. Ruiyao’s recent series of prints is accumulating a year's work exploring the various angles of the inner world based on memories. Ruiyao uses etching and lithography respectively to make Mystery, grotesque, bizarre, unreal, unexpected combinations, soft transitions, delicate images, a sense of space, And surreal images to create a space for vicarious contemplation. She has exhibited widely since 2020 in a number of more extensive mixed exhibitions in the UK and also aboard.
