Katrine Lyck (b. 1992, Denmark) received her bachelor in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in 2018 and graduated with MA in Print at the Royal College of Art in 2022. Her work explores healing through the sense of touch and sight in relation to body, mind, and nature. The mild but cheerful colour palette and the soft, shimmering silks provide a calm background for monotypes, aquatint etchings, and photopolymer prints, creating tactile and soothing imagery. Lyck always considers the relation between subject matter and the properties of silk and creates from a bodily sensory experience. In 2021, she was selected to exhibit in Art for Youth at the Mall Gallery in London, as well as Art Refuge’s Wish You Were Here in Yorkton Workshops. In 2022, Lyck was artist in residence at the international poetry festival Stanza in St Andrews, exhibited at Southwark Park Galleries in the group show Impressions, The Summer Exhibition at Green and Stone, the RBA Rising Stars at ROSL, as well as the Signature Art Prize gala in London. She was awarded the Travers Smith Award from the RCA degree show 2022.
