In her sparsely abstract works Jo Gorner records the remains of an encounter between herself and the landscape. The works hint at a landscape beyond the physical, with meticulous markings on the surface of the paper, lines suspended between intention and chance, resolution and movement. In her submission Gorner has submitted work from a new series, Fused. The series contains 6 prints in total, Fused 1 is a multi plate etching which delicately and precisely balances a complex of lines. Gorner graduated from the Ruskin School of Drawing, Oxford and completed an MA in Print at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in group and solo shows. Key exhibitions include solo shows at Flowers East Gallery; Northern Print, Newcastle; Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Co.Mayo; Bothy Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Group shows at Flowers Gallery, Cork Street; Dublin Graphic Studio; 7 years inclusion at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition since 2013. She has work in many private and public collections in the UK and abroad including the British Museum; Trinity Hall, Cambridge; Bankfield Museum, Halifax; Bury City Gallery.
