Dougal is an artist based in Stroud, Gloucestershire who’s drawings and prints engage with the ecology and archeology of wetland spaces. His latest prints celebrate the diversity, sensuality and inherent queerness of plant and human ecologies. Each began with drawings of ‘Gunnera’ an exuberant, often bisexual plant which thrives in watery environments. These works were initiated during a recent printmaking residency at Dumfries house in Scotland. Dougal studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths (2017) and a postgraduate at the Royal Drawing School where he was awarded the ACS drawing prize (2022).
