Lorena Herrero is a Spanish-born artist based in London, whose practice explores the intersections between materiality, nature, and memory. With a foundation in intaglio printmaking, her work has expanded to include a wide range of mediums and experimental techniques, always guided by a tactile sensitivity and process-driven inquiry. The submitted series, The Slip in the Confusion, reflects on the fragility of our environment in the face of climate crisis. These prints serve as visual echoes of melting ice, shifting ground, and atmospheric disturbance—traces of a world in flux. Their translucent forms suggest the precarious balance between collapse and regeneration, where beauty and instability coexist. Surface impressions become quiet metaphors for deeper environmental truths—truths that she finds increasingly troubling. Lorena’s work has been exhibited in group shows across the UK and is held in significant collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum’s permanent print collection. Her artistic journey continues to evolve as a search for new ways of mark-making—seeking to uncover subtle narratives through texture, layering, and material exploration.
