Jialu Yao is a visual artist and printmaker whose work explores the quiet interplay between people, objects, and space. Originally from China, she approaches London museums as living environments—places where cultural meaning shifts between the familiar and the unknown. Working primarily in black and white lithography and etching, Jialu captures subtle moments of observation and interaction. Her compositions often resemble stage-like scenes, viewed through a reflective and distanced gaze. She holds an MA in Illustration (Distinction) from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London (2024), and a BSc in Biological Science from Tsinghua University. Her cross-disciplinary background informs her interest in the connections between observation, narrative, and meaning.
