Brandon Williams’ work addresses conflict and control by emphasizing issues of gentrification, overdevelopment, and class inequality within a built environment. By utilizing a variety of intaglio materials, processes, and techniques he creates imagery that consists of semi imagined locations collaged together. Organic textures, geometric patterns, and linear elements that can be viewed from different orientations evoke a curious sensation that invites exploration. Williams received his BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2013, and his MFA from Kansas State University in 2017 both with a concentration in printmaking. He is a tenured Associate Professor of Art at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. His art has been exhibited nationally and internationally in invitational and competitive juried exhibitions and his works exist in many public and private collections.
