Aly Storey is an artist and designer. She employs print techniques to explore across a diversity of scale and subject matter. Rural buildings are a source of intrigue and inspiration as are geometric forms, repetition and abstraction. Using an etching press and a combination of collagraph and monotype techniques, Storey creates unique prints and small editioned variations, often incorporating hand-painted and collage elements. Recent works focus on barns and farm buildings illuminated by stark security lighting at night or depicted in low-light, evoking a sense of stillness and contemplation. Originally trained in Graphic Design at Newcastle, Storey worked in publishing before turning to printmaking a decade ago. Her print journey began with screen-printed textiles and developed further through short courses and regular printmaking workshops at Rabley Drawing Centre. In 2025, she held her first solo exhibition at Made in the Pewsey Vale gallery, showcasing both her small-scale prints and large-scale textile works.
