Tony Williams

£0.00
Tony is still fairly new to printmaking having spent a working lifetime in Graphic Design. It is difficult to determine wether he is anywhere near an established style or medium although linocut is usually the basis for most works. A long term admiration for Patrick Caulfield is becoming an obvious influence in both mark making and subject. He likes mixing mediums such as screen printing and cyanotypes, and enjoys the unexpected outcomes that he refers to as his 'sketchbook'. Williams subject material has taken on a more environmental message recently, the current developing 'Make do and mend' series is a reflection on our throw away society and more recent global issues such as the pandemic and man made climate problems reflecting back on historic times of 'real' hardship (World Wars). Tony has no official qualification in printmaking but was lucky enough to gain a degree in Graphic Design many, many years ago (1981). Tony Williams has been fortunate enough to have been accepted for his local Open competition for the last several years. He was also accepted for the Print International 2021 at Ty Pawb in Wrexham.
