Sophie Speyer RCA

Sophie Speyer is an Artist and Printmaker working in London. The focus of Sophie's work is fashion, illustrated through the printed mark. Sophie does most of her print preparation at home in her studio, but makes her artwork at Bainbridge Printmaking Studio in South London. Sophie won a fellowship at Bainbridge Print Studios in 2022, and this creative time supported a large body of work inspired by screenshots taken from fashion films. Sophie’s work sits between the disciplines of Fine Art and Fashion Illustration, and was noticed by Patrick Morgan at FIDA. Sophie held a 6 month online residency with FIDA in 2022. The focus for the work created during her residency aimed to convey a mood or theme from fashion that had cultural relevance for the artist. The work submitted to WCPF was made during Sophie's residency with FIDA.
