Lisa Sheppy

£0.00
Lisa Sheppy’s art practice involves working with materials and processes akin to craft, with printmaking at the centre. Her creative interests are initiated with responses to the forgotten, overlooked and obsolete. The work selected is an example of the materialised research she has produced at The University of the West of England's Centre for Print Research (CRPR). Her study was designed to investigate tissue transfer printed ceramics with the primary goal of reinvigorating it as an innovative creative process for artists. The method of printmaking materialised in the ceramic printed works have intaglio engraving as a method of production, combining the visual language of transferware patterns with archival and personal responses. Sheppy graduated with an MA Multidisciplinary Printmaking from UWE with a distinction in 2009 and was awarded the Glass Seller Prize at the 2010 British Glass Biennale. She has exhibited subsequent works in The Brontë Parsonage Museum; Yorkshire, The Mansion House; London, The RWA; Bristol, The London Glass Blowing Gallery and The National Trust’s Croome Court. She commenced her full time PhD study at the CFPR in 2017 and has just been awarded her doctorate in 2023.
