Tuesday Riddell (b.1992) takes us down to the forest floor and a glorious insight into the world that captures her imagination, that ethereal nocturne where all cycles of life and death carry on with rarely a watchful eye. Tuesday Riddell graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from City & Guilds of London Art School. Following that she undertook her Painter-Stainers Decorative Surface Fellowship at City & Guilds, specialist training in endangered skills such as gilding, japanning, chinoiserie and marbling. Riddell was then granted membership to The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers. She is the only contemporary artist in the UK working in lacquerware. Recent exhibitions include the London Art Fair with Soho Revue, Through the Brambles, a solo exhibition and As it is now, a group show with Messums in London and New York.
