Richard Marsden studied on the MLitt in Fine Art Practice (Printmaking) at The Glasgow School of Art and is a cooperative and founding member of The Leeds Print Workshop, he now develops his practice at the Glasgow Pirint Studio where he is also employed as a Gallery Assistant. Alongside several group exhibitions he has also shown solely in Glasgow, Leeds and Berlin. Richards work derives from an interest in architecture, his screenprints are very process-led, he experiments with saturation, tone and lightness of colour and composition, each layer a reaction to the last. The final compositions are completely formalistic; he is searching to create balance while still maintaining visual interest.
