Rene Gonzalez is a London-based artist born in Canada before moving via Costa Rica to the UK to undertake a BA in Painting at City & Guilds of London Art School. He paints dream-like intricate landscapes featuring animal characters. Foxes, deer, and stars are some of the common motifs, and he is inspired by myth, folklore, Jungian archetypes and the visual language of fairy tales. Earlier in 2025, Gonzalez has had a solo presentation at The Bomb Factory, was at the London Art Fair with Soho Revue, and appeared in Landscape Painting, a group show with Messums.
