Marco Poma

£0.00

Marco Poma lives and works in Florence as a teacher and Studio Manager at Il Bisonte Foundation – International Printmaking School.

His research explores places where time expands and contracts, following different temporal scales from our own. Silent spaces where elements transform under the influence of natural forces; where voice dissolves, leaving room for pure observation and for listening to the sound of time.

These are environments freed from stillness: they breathe. His works are expressed through the etched mark: the acid bites into the metal plate, leaving indelible traces. A sculptural medium where each action removes substance to add meaning.

The mark is born from an expressive gesture - sometimes impetuous and spontaneous, other times calm and rational. It is the fundamental particle of the work, and the intimate word of his being.
