Katrine Lyck

£0.00
Katrine Lyck (b. 1992, Denmark) received her bachelor in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in 2018 and graduated with MA in Print at the Royal College of Art in 2022. She is now based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Her work explores healing through the sense of touch and sight in relation to body, mind, and nature. The mild but cheerful colour palette and the soft, shimmering silks provide a calm background for monotypes, aquatint etchings, and photopolymer prints, creating tactile and soothing imagery. Lyck always considers the relation between subject matter and the properties of silk and creates from a bodily sensory experience.

Lyck has exhibited in London at the Mall Galleries, the Signature Art Prize gala, Southwark Park Galleries among others. In 2022 she was awarded the Travers Smith Award from the RCA degree show 2022 and was artist in residence at the international poetry festival Stanza in St Andrews. This year she exhibited in Copenhagen at Danske Grafikere and was artist in residence at Art Print Residence, Arenys De Munt, Spain, working with large-scale intaglio printing.
