Katerina Paisiou

£0.00
Katerina Paisiou’s artistic practice focuses on examining and expressing contemporary realities and states of being.

Printmaking is her main artistic medium, and she is intrigued by the interplay that can be achieved by combining conventional and digital printing methods, as well as the use of new technologies in the creative process.

The print series ‘Edition 2’ is part of Katerina’s research for her thesis on contemporary urban surroundings, and it consists of eight prints in all that make up the pages of the volume. This monoprint edition focuses on the intense but fleeting occupation of public space by the individual. The prints display gestural elements and materials embedded in the paper via the chine collé technique that overrun the unchanging grid of the etched background to signify and underline a person’s presence in the overwhelming metropolitan setting.

Katerina graduated from the University of Western Macedonia in 2022 with an Integrated Master’s Degree in Fine Arts.

She has engaged in numerous collaborative projects and group exhibitions including the online Platforms Project Fair 2020, modified for pandemic restrictions, and the collective show ‘Snap’ at Etch/Ink , Athens, in 2021.
