Jo is a multi-disciplinary printmaker. She gained her BA at Edinburgh and her MA in Printmaking at Chelsea.
During the past few years she has been working in Antigua producing a large body of tropically themed works, some focussing on sea corals and more recently on the palms and flora found on the island
Her love of tropical plants is reflected in her recent monotypes and collographs. Working from sketches, her monotypes capture the climate, the heat and stature of silhouetted forms.
These preliminary monotypes will inform much larger woodcuts and collagraphs during her forthcoming five week residency ( July & August ) at Art Print Residence in Barcelona.
She is hoping to present these larger scale prints to the selection committee on her return in early August, as there will be hybrid prints combining woodcut, monotype and collagraph techniques.
Jo works between Artichoke Printmaking Workshop in Brixton and Bainbridge Studios. She has exhibited several times at the RA Summer Exhibition and is in the print collections of The British Museum and the V&A.
