Ella West

£0.00
Ella West explores the entangled relationship between nature, human culture and the ground through printmaking and sculpture. Imagery of rock formations and standing stones appear as recurring motifs in bodies of work that monumnetalise the rock as a living, moving and benevolent force. In her recent varied edition screenprint series, speculative landscapes are depicted within which workers clean and maintain stone monuments or broken rock-like fragments. Through these works, she employs visual myth-making to ask how geological materials might be able to shape our notion of home, ecological acts of care, and the passing of time.

Ella works primarily in printmaking from her London-based studio, alongside working as a Technician at The Institute of Making, UCL. She graduated from her MA in Fine Art Media (Slade School of Art) in 2022 and has exhibited across the UK and US.
