Edmond Brooks-Beckman (b. 1987) is a London-based painter whose practice explores the interaction of formal elements such as line, colour, and composition through a process of addition and removal. He holds a BA in Fine Art Painting from Brighton University (2009) and completed a PGCE at the IOE in 2016. After teaching Art and Design in secondary education, he became the foundation course leader at the Hampstead School of Art. Brooks-Beckman earned his MA in Fine Art Painting from The Royal College of Art between 2021 and 2023, during which he was awarded the Valerie Beston Artists’ Trust Prize. His richly layered surfaces combine pictographic, textual, and abstract motifs, creating works that engage with personal, cultural, and historical references, often reflecting his Jewish identity.
