Ann Kavanagh is a Dublin-based visual artist whose practice centres on printmaking and photography. A 2004 Fine Art graduate of IADT, she received a Graduate Award to Graphic Studio Dublin and Blackchurch Print Studio.
Her work draws on architectural forms and urban environments, creating minimalist, layered compositions that explore space, depth, and emotional resonance. The printing process for her is a response to the materials themselves, drawing by erasing lines to create lines on woodblocks, editing until a composition begins to emerge.
Influenced by the aesthetics of Mokuhanga, she now facilitates workshops at the National Print Museum as part of their Skills Transfer Programme. Kavanagh’s prints, books, and three-dimensional forms share a refined visual language, marked by delicacy, structure, and a quiet, meditative stillness.
