Adam Dant’s artworks chronicle London life in their densely wrought depictions of public spaces, where historical motifs mingle with present-day observations to create wryly humorous views of contemporary culture. Dant’s combination of master draftsmanship and a wonderfully imaginative vision has led to him being hailed as a ‘modern day Hogarth’ and was the recipient of The Rome Scholarship in printmaking in 1993, and The Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2002.
Adam Dant’s work is exhibited internationally and is in the collections of Tate Britain, MOMA, New York, Musee D’Art Contemporain, The Museum of London and various other public and private collections. Adam's map of 'Turner's London' commemorates J.M.W Turner's 250th birthday which took place this year, detailing all of the significant sites around the city for the artist's life and career.
Adam Dant graduated from Liverpool School of Art in 1990, and the Royal College of Art in 1991, going on to exhibit around the UK and internationally. Recent exhibitions include ‘Legends of Albion’ at Newlands House Gallery (2024), ‘The Reign’ at The Society of Antiquaries (2024), and ‘The Return of London’ at the Crypt of St Martin in Fields (2021).
