INSTALLATION AWARD
FORMULATING NEW APPROACHES TO CONTEMPORARY PRINT
Each year, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair offers our international open call applicants the opportunity to present a proposal for an ambitious, large-scale print-based installation that pushes the possibilities of printmaking, challenges preconceptions of what a print is, and discovers new innovative approaches to print display and exhibition.
The winning application receives funding to produce the work to showcase at WCPF, and gives the artist a chance to work in a larger scale format than might not be financially viable in their usual practice.
ABOUT THE AWARD
Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair is dedicated to showcasing works that challenge the misconceptions surrounding printmaking. The installation award is central to this core aim and should reflect this in its ambition and originality. Furthermore we believe in the power of art to challenge and inspire audiences and therefore are looking for applications that look to address and positively promote climate action.
We are grateful to our partners Landsec in sponsoring this prize as they look to create places that make a lasting positive contribution to communities and the planet.
£4000 to cover creative and artistic costs with an additional £1000 towards transportation.
The work must be freestanding and no bigger than 12m2.
The installation will first be shown at WCPF 22 before being displayed at Westgate, Oxford for a period of 6 months and therefore must be able to cope with large traffic.
Deadline: 22 July 2022
Successful Artist Announced: 22 August 2022
Please note: we encourage applicants to also submit existing and proposed installations via our open call.
