Grace Gillespie is a Bristol-based printmaker, specialising in handmade linocut prints. Grace’s prints initially developed as images to go with her music, but she consequently moved away from the music world after becoming too unwell to continue performing. Her reduction prints reflects life as she recovered, a new found appreciation for the smaller worlds that surround us, indoors and out. The reduction process takes several months and this slowness reflects the slowness of recovery, but also that of growth. Grace hopes that capturing the beauty of our close surroundings and translating them to print will bring that same beauty, slowness and peace to the lives of others.
