Agata Hamilton (PL, born 1982) I have graduated in fine art printmaking both from the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (BA) and Camberwell College of Arts in London(MA). I create monumental prints. My subject of study is 'Human Boundaries', both the physical and emotional, boundaries that are constantly invaded by others. I am searching for tensions between the presented figures, a tension that balances on the borders of anxiety and rage. On a daily basis we are under pressure of judgement - how to look and behave, and at some point we become so conditioned that we put ourselves into uncomfortable positions to please all those around us. This fascinating and troubling behaviour is the exploration of my works. Printmaking is the medium I feel is most suitable for my work and my personality. I am now discovering more mixed techniques of printing where each medium or matrix is being carefully and specifically created and overlaid on large scale works. "I can always keep my mouth shut" and "Is silenve a virtue " is my recent body of work that I would like to exhibit at Woolwich print art fair, they both come from my personal search in to human boundaries. It is a wide subject, but I bealive it is a subject that everyone can relate to in their own way.
