Thomas Barry is a London based conservator and artist whose interests in different techniques and materials have led him to explore a variety of media in his artwork, including oil and watercolour painting, lino, woodcut and intaglio printmaking, as well as bronze, ceramic, stone and wood sculpture.

In his practice as an printmaker, he is especially interested in the dramatic effects that can be achieved by the monochrome media of intaglio printmaking, which can be used to great effect to depict varying atmospheric effects. Thomas Barry's engravings are most influenced by artists such as James McNeill Whistler and JMW Turner.
