Anna Marrow's work explores the energy and visual chaos of the city, and the many human narratives that are intertwined within it. For her, everything begins with intense drawings and inky paintings which become the basis for multi layered screen prints. She is fascinated by architecture, the shapes and shadows of the city and by the lives that go on behind closed doors. Looking at the human condition, loneliness, love , joy, romance, sometimes she adds a surreal element, layering in characters from old movies, charity shop annuals or from her parent's collection of National Geographic magazines. She studied Illustration (MA, Central Saint Martins) and loves suggesting a narrative, but leaving the viewer to finish the story.

Her newest pieces incorporate four colour separations, this method of screen print enables real depth of colour and tone and enhances fine details so she can include softer, more watery marks as well as sharp edged drawings.

Anna graduated from Central Saint Martins with an MA in Illustration (distinction) in 2007 and has been making screen prints and mixed media paintings for a variety of clients, since then. She has shown at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair in 2023, 2021, 2020 and 2019, was selected for 'The ING Discerning Eye' in 2022 and 'The Other Art Fair' in, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. This year she has also been shortlist for the RA Summer Exhibition.
