Drawing inspiration from her upbringing on the south coast, Alex's work reflects the beautiful British coastline and its harbours. From its tranquil moments to the stormy power of the sea. Alex has been living and working in London for the past 10 years, initially working as a fashion print designer and in the last few years focusing on her passion of create seascapes and landscapes. Recently, she has explored the organic shapes of meadows, influenced by her fashion background.

Alex creates her artworks, by blending screen printing and painting methods. Each piece starts with a line drawing, often sketched on location for energy and proportions. Then she paints directly onto the mesh of the silk screen layered onto the canvas, this technique is called mono screen printing. Finally, Alex adds depth by screen printing the sky, contrasting its calmness with the dynamic foreground and incorporating her line drawing for detail. The beauty of merging painting and screen-printing methods, allows Alex to create mini-series for each artwork. Every piece in the series features distinct colour palettes, atmospheres, and brushstrokes, resulting in unique, handmade creations, while sharing the same line drawing.
