Alex Helfgott's work explores the art of making.

Through cropping, obscuring, redacting and adding she explores the endless possibilities for abstraction and manipulation in making.  She often uses Imagery of her Grandfather an Olympian who survived the Holocaust as he is a huge inspiration to Alex.

Alex is exploring abstraction as a tool for offsetting vulnerability. Questioning what it means to enter into abstraction when dealing with difficult imagery. Changing mediums and materials allows Alex to warp and disturb the subconscious dialogue she shares with the work.

Alex uses a range of printmaking processes in her work including screenprint, monoprint, lithography and etching.

Alex graduated from  Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Fine Arts 2022.

Alex is currently studying for her Masters in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art and is expected to graduate in 2024.
