Martina Di Gennaro’s research investigates the geography of the intangible generated by the relationship between memory and space.
Through the interaction between found photographs, their manipulation and the printing processes, she creates sutured unities that continually clashes with fragmentation.

0 1 is meant to be an apologia for all that yearns for whiteness while disappearing. Here the trace is the stumbling of matter in the fraction, but it is also the momentum, the necessary element without which it would only be the void. Hence the idea of a semiotics of a binary and dichotomous code: 0 and 1.

Martina Di Gennaro graduated from ABANA in 2019 with a MA in printmaking. She’s now artist in residence at Il Bisonte Foundation for art and printmaking in Florence.

She has exhibited her works since 2017 in collective exhibitions and prizes. Highlights include: Fifth International Printmaking Biennial Cacak, 123rd annual exhibition at Society of Scottish Artists in Edimburgh, International Original Print Exhibition, RE Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers in London, Kitchen Print Biennale in Charmes (FR), Oficina Impossivel in Lisbon.

Her work is held in permanent exhibition at the Metropolitana dell’Arte di Napoli and in Pescara, at Giardini d’Arte di Via Caravaggio.
