Kathryn Acton (UK born 1950). She specialises in screenprinting where she explores landscapes and buildings abstracting shapes and colours to produce colourful and graphically strong images.

She uses cut paper stencils for each layer of colour, sometimes overprinting to create depths of colour and reducing the flow of ink through the screen using different pressure on the squeegee to create a range of textures.

The images are simplified into the dominant forms and colours and the familiar takes on a different perspective.

Kathryn is a retired teacher and having studied and practised many printmaking techniques including linoprinting, drypoint, monoprint and collograph, discovered that screenprinting best suited her love of colour and form.

Kathryn is a member Oxford Arts Society.
